Host your Special Private Event at the Charles River Museum!

Give your special occasion a unique and exciting ambiance at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. Our historic, 19th-century textile mill overlooking the scenic Charles River provides a unique, historic, picturesque backdrop to many of Greater Boston’s most memorable special event experiences.

We regularly host Weddings, Birthday Parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and special public and Corporate Events of all kinds. 

MUSEUM ACCOMMODATIONS and CAPACITY

  • up to 300 guests cocktail-style
  • up to 250 guests theater/classroom-style
  • up to 180 guests seated for dinner, with space for dancing
  • up to 220 guests seated for dinner, without space for dancing

RENTAL FEES & POLICIES

Renting our facility includes up to 2 hours of setup time, up to 6 hours of event time, up to 2 hours of breakdown/cleanup time (up to 10 hours total).

  • Monday-Thursday: $1,600
  • Friday & Sunday: $2,600
  • Saturdays, Holidays, and the Sundays of Holiday Weekends: $3,600

ADDITIONAL, MANDATORY FEES

  • All evening events and events with alcohol service require private event security at a cost of $300.
  • All events require professional cleaning of the facility the following morning at a cost of $250

EARLY SETUP/LOAD-IN DURING MUSEUM OPERATING HOURS

The Museum can be closed to the public at 3:00pm on the day of an evening event at no additional charge. Earlier setup/load-in times are possible with (1) permission of the Museum, and (2) an additional fee of $150 per hour. Setup is not allowed until the Museum is closed to the public.

CEREMONY REHEARSAL FEE

Ceremony rehearsals are available at the discretion of the Museum. Rehearsals will be held outside of public Museum hours for $200 for a maximum of 2 hours.

NONPROFIT DISCOUNTS

Discounted rates may be available for qualifying non-profit organizations.

WEDDING CEREMONIES IN LANDRY PARK

Wedding ceremonies can be held in Landry Park just outside the Museum, located right on the Charles River. Landry Park is NOT part of the Museum premises; we do not control and cannot guarantee its availability nor permit its use. Usage of Landry Park is controlled by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and requires a permit, with an associated fee payable to the DCR. Please contact the DCR at least 6 months prior to your event to secure permission to hold your ceremony in Landry Park. Please CLICK HERE for more information about special events on DCR property.
