Warm Autumn Greetings from the Charles River Museum!
It was 31 years ago today….
The Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation opened its doors to the public for the first time on October 1st, 1988.
In honor of this occasion, we’re launching our first annual Birthday Appeal for your support of our mission to encourage and inspire innovation in America!
This month, in celebration of our 31st Birthday, please consider a gift of $31 to the Charles River Museum!
We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support of our collections, exhibits, and programming. We are proud of Waltham’s eminence as an industrial wellspring in America’s history, and of our home here at the Francis Cabot Lowell Mill, a National Historic Landmark.
Our work to make meaningful improvements to the Museum for your education and enjoyment is ongoing, even as we are hard at work in the background now on a plan to align our exhibits and programming with the full narrative arc of the American Industrial Revolution, with special emphasis on the local and regional contributions and breakthroughs.
Your help will make us better storytellers. Your help will make us better teachers of history, of tools, and techniques of yesterday and today in this most historic textile mill that will be woven into the creation story of America’s future.
It’s our 31st birthday! Please make a $31 gift today!
On behalf of the Museum's Volunteers, Trustees, and Staff... thank you so much for your crucial support!
